IAM members ratify first agreement with Swissport

Winnipeg, MB – Members of IAM Local Lodge 714 have ratified their first collective agreement with Swissport.
The two-year agreement provides wage increases averaging 2.5 per cent in each year. Other agreement high lights include:
- sick days for both full and part-time members
- seniority language now in place
- Overtime will now be paid beyond regularly scheduled work including days off
“Establishing the seniority language was the key component in the 80 per cent ratification of this first agreement,” explained IAM Transportation District Lodge 140 general chairperson Rick Vezina. “Seniority was the reason they came to us for representation and we delivered. This agreement was made possible through the hard work of Grand Lodge Representative Tony Didoshak and Local Lodge 714 president Robert Ronyck who assisted in guiding the bargaining committee.”
The 20 members include ramp agents and leads who are responsible for servicing United Airlines and Sunwing flights in and out of Winnipeg.
