A tale of two townships
North Bay, ON – The IAM encourages its members to become politically involved and that can take many forms – political activism, belonging to a political party, joining a riding association, and running for political office at the municipal, provincial or federal level.
This is a profile story about two members of IAM Local Lodge 2412 who both work at Boart Longyear in North Bay, Ontario. They both decided if you want to change things politically you have to throw your hat into the ring and run for office. They both ran for municipal office, both were elected, in fact for one it’s his second term…why they did it and how they work their community involvement around their regular job is a Tale of Two Townships….
