For immediate release

Bathurst, NB – Thirteen members at IAM Local Lodge 2418 working at Lounsbury GM ratified a 3-year agreement which saw an improvement of a 2% wage increase for each year go to the members.

Because of COVID-19, the talks started out to extend the current agreement by one year, but through email and telephone calls, both parties agreed to the 3-year deal which takes effect February, 1 2021.

The Negotiating Committee of Donna Boudreau and Etienne Poirier were very helpful in achieving this agreement. The agreement covers Parts, service, clerical, service advisors, detailers and utility persons.

The process started in September and was ratified on December 15, 2020.

The 13 members consist of mechanics, service writers and parts personnel. The IAM represents more than 1500 workers in auto dealerships on Vancouver Island, the lower mainland of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.
