Machinists Ratify First Agreement with Abipa Canada

Laval, QC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 1758 have ratified their first collective agreement with Abipa Canada Inc.
The agreement provides wage increases of 3 per cent in the first year, 2 per cent in the second year and 2 per cent in the third year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Protection for the work of the bargaining unit
• The right to grievance and arbitration
• Seniority for layoff and recall rights
• Improved holiday benefits
• Improved bereavement leave
• A pay scale and progressive system
• A position in the wage grid
• A $750.00 signing bonus
The 90 members manufacture and assemble components such as motors, landing gear and aircraft fuselages for the Canadian aviation industry. The IAM is the largest union in the Canadian aerospace sector.
