Solid Wage Increases in Carmanah Agreement

Surrey, BC – Solid wage increases highlight the latest IAM collective agreement with Carmanah Industries.
 
The four-year agreement provides wage increases of 2.5 per cent in the first year, 2 per cent in the second and third year and 2.5 per cent in the fourth year. Other agreement highlights include :
$200 lump sum payment to each members pension plan in the first year
Ten cents an hour increase to the pension plan contributions in the second, third and fourth year
Family Day added to statutory holidays
Benefit improvements
Harassment language improvements
 
 
The 23 members of IAM Local Lodge 692 service, overhaul, repair, refurbish and fabricate equipment for the panel and engineered wood products, pulp and paper and sawmill industries.
 
Carmanah Industries is a world leader in stranding technology and equipment for the production of wood-based panels. The company is also a major service centre for pulp and paper equipment repair and refurbishment.
