Machinists Ink New Deal with Towne Ford

Miramichi, NB – Members of IAM Local Lodge 2418 have ratified a new three-year collective agreement with Towne Ford Sales and Service Limited.
The agreement provides wage increases of 3 per cent in the first year, 2 per cent in the second year and 3 per cent in the third year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Longer layoff notification
• Daily per diem increased to $75.00 and removal of the restriction of providing receipts
• Meal allowance after two hours of overtime is now $20.00
• Increased boot allowance to $200.00
• New Technicians tool allowance of $200.00/year
• Provide a parts incentive bonus program based on sales
“This was the first contract negotiations for Walter Johnston and Deryk Murphy and they did an excellent job of representing their members,” said IAM Grand Lodge Representative Rick Arsenault. The 18 members consist of service technicians, parts personnel and service advisors.
The IAM represents workers at ten auto dealerships in Atlantic Canada.
