Part One

On January 8, 2016, the IAM signed a ten-year collective agreement with Air Canada. The agreement covers more than 8,000 IAM Air Canada employees working in Technical Operations, Airports and Cargo and Logistics and supply across the country. The length of the agreement is unprecedented in annuls of IAM-Air Canada agreement history. Part Two

The tentative agreement signed between the IAM and Air Canada, covering workers in Technical Operations, Airports and Cargo and Logistics and Supply is unprecedented in length. The bargaining which began in September 2015 and concluded January 8, 2016 marked the first time in over a decade that the collective bargaining process between the union and the airline was allowed to conclude without the threat of bankruptcy or government interference. Starting January 14, IAM Transportation District 140 will conduct a series of member information sessions and ratification votes on the new Air Canada tentative agreement.
