Site visit winning formula continues in Edmonton
Edmonton, AB – Since he took office, Canadian GVP Stan Pickthall, has invested a considerable amount of time and travel conducting face-to-face meetings with IAM Canada members. The recent visit to Edmonton was by all accounts, another success. “For many of the members we talked to, this was their first opportunity to meet and talk with a union official from our national office,” explained IAM Chief of Staff Gord Falconer. “It was their chance to put a face to the name and it meant something to them that their national leader wanted to meet with them.”
The week-long tour included visits to Air Canada and Swissport at Edmonton Airport, two Finning International locations, Leavitt Machinery and Cummins Engines. The tour wrapped up with a staff meeting at District Lodge 14.
