Machinists Ratify with Symphony Living

Clarington, ON – The latest collective agreement was music to the ears of IAM Local Lodge 1295 employed by Symphony Living Retirement Home.
The Multi-year agreement provides wage increases of ten per cent over the life of the contract. Other agreement highlights include:
- Increase in employer contributions to the IAM Pension plan in the last year of the agreement
- Increase Life Insurance coverage
- Improved language on overtime selection
- Improved language on shift vacancy selection
The 45 members consist of Registered Practical Nurses, Personal Support Workers, Housekeeping staff, and cooks. The IAM represents health care workers in retirement homes in Orleans (2), North Bay, Stratford, Clarington (2) and Toronto.
