Roya brings more than four years of wide-ranging research experience, with a strong focus on public policy. Before joining the IAM, she completed a degree in Political Studies with a minor in French and worked directly with the Government of Canada’s Privy Council Office. In that role, she advised the Prime Minister on key national issues, including housing, government benefits, and the rising cost of living.
Her commitment to community service runs just as deep. Since 2019, Roya has volunteered in campaigns supporting individuals affected by Cystic Fibrosis, and she continues to dedicate her time to animal shelters and international human rights initiatives.
At the IAM, supports a broad range of priorities; from legislative research and participation on the Labour Standards Advisory Committee with Employment and Social Development Canada, to assisting international representatives with research supporting negotiations, and most recently expanding her work into pensions and benefits.
