Another win for IAM District 14 in Alberta
IAM Alberta welcomes a new group of members working at the Daiken Comfort Calgary.
Eighty percent of the new members voted to join the IAM after a long campaign. The vote took place on 20 December, 2024 with an overwhelming majority of workers choosing the IAM. They join other members at the same employer and will be part of IAM Local 1722 who joined the IAM in late 2023.
Important issues for the new members were wage parity, workload management, workplace transparency, as well as equity respect and fairness. The new group is preparing for bargaining in the near future.
The new members work in customer service and technical sales positions. They join their colleagues who are part of the warehouse group. International Representative Kevin Timms assisted in the campaign.
This Daikin group is based out of Calgary, Alberta and performs HVAC supply and receiving duties to contractors in the area.
