Craig Chard appointed General Chairperson at District 140

Vancouver, B.C. – Dave Flowers, President and Directing General Chair of IAM District yesterday appointed Craig Chard to replace Steve Prinz as General Chairperson for the Western Region. Chard, a member of Local Lodge 764 in Richmond, B.C. will be the Designated Air Canada General Chairperson.
Steve Prinz was appointed Special Representative with IAM Canadian Grand Lodge effective 10 July, 2023 and vacated the spot filled by Chard.
“Craig was a mentor to me when I first got involved in the IAM. He’s our longest-serving Shop Steward in YVR and has served in the Shop Committee on several occasions. When the Shop Committee incumbents were placed on Off Duty Status from Air Canada in 2020 Craig stepped up and filled the role of Shop Chair on a temporary basis with a lot of passion and integrity,” said Prinz.
Flowers added, “Choosing Craig for the temporary appointment was an easy choice. He has the experience, the commitment and the wisdom to do the job, and we couldn’t be luckier to have in this role.”
Chard begins his term today. He is 33-year member of the IAM.
