For Immediate Release

Montréal, QC – The newest members of IAM Local Lodge 2727 have their first collective agreement with Services d’entretien de Clean International Inc.

“These workers now have the benefit of having a collective agreement and the protection that provides,” explained IAM District Lodge 11 Business Representative Pierre Grenier. “They now have union recognition, grievance and arbitration rights, amnesty discipline and seniority for layoff and recall rights. It’s a significant improvement over what they had in the past.”

The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 2 per cent in each year along with a signing bonus of $330.00. The agreement also provides sick leave and a floater or mobile day.

The 16 members, who were organized in February 2012, provide maintenance and sanitation services for poultry slaughterhouses.
