Machinists have new agreement with Mettler Toledo

Toronto, ON – Members of IAM Local Lodge 235 have ratified a new collective agreement with Mettler Toledo.
“The negotiating team of Ken Vantaaja, Bill Brodie and Richard Intriago persevered through this long set of bargaining and their hard work resulted in a contract with several improvements,” explained IAM District Lodge 78 Directing Business Representative Derek Ferguson.
The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 1 per cent in the first year and 2 per cent in the second and third year respectively. Other agreement highlights include :
• Pension increases in each year of the agreement
• Increased meal allowance
• Improved eye care benefits
• Increased standby time premium
• Improved contract language
The 18 members maintain, repair and overhaul weight scales used in the retail food sector. Mettler Toledo is a global manufacturer and marketer of precision instruments for use in laboratory, industrial and food retailing applications.
