Machinists Ink New Agreement with Siemens Canada

Dorval, QC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 2468 have ratified a new collective agreement with Siemens Canada.
The three – year agreement provides wage increase of 2 per cent in the first year, 2.5 per cent in the second year and 2.5 per cent in the third year along with a $1,000 signing bonus. Other agreement highlights include :
• Improved vacation allotments, 4 weeks after five years of service, 5 weeks after ten years of service and 6 weeks after 15 years of service
“This committee did a great job in a very short space of time,” explained IAM District Lodge 11 Business Representative Claude Boisvert. “Although the company wanted to tackle social benefits, this committee held firm and made no concessions,” said Boisvert. “In fact it was quite the contrary; the committee was able to improve some articles of the collective agreement.”
The members are involved in the design and manufacture of Aero Derivative Gas Turbines.
