Machinists ink new deal with Richmond Honda

Richmond, B.C. – Members of IAM Local Lodge 1857 have a new collective agreement with Richmond Honda.

The multi-year agreement was ratified by a 91 per cent margin. The agreement provides wages increases of 2 per cent in first, second and third years respectively and 1.75 in the fourth year. Other agreement highlights include:

  • A $500 lump sum signing bonus
  • A new agreement clause on work distribution
  • New contract language regarding union representation for any disciplinary action

The 45 members include automotive technicians, service writers, parts personnel, lot attendants, detailers and shuttle drivers.

The IAM represents more than 1,500 workers at auto and truck dealerships on Vancouver Island, the lower mainland of British Columbia, Edmonton, Calgary, Fort Frances, Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, Markham, Toronto, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador.
