Machinists Ratify Agreement with Howard Marten

Pickering, ON – Members of IAM Local Lodge 901 have ratified a new collective agreement with Howard Marten Company Limited.
“The wage progression review procedure was a very contentious issue for our people,” explained IAM District Lodge 78 Business Representative Jim Snider. “We were able to replace it with an automatic wage progression system for each classification which satisfied our members.”
The three-year agreement provides a wage increase of 2.5 per cent in each year along with minor improvements to benefit packages.
The 68 members manufacture and distribute circulating oil lubricating consoles, fluid systems and seal oil systems for the North American mining and power generating industries.
