Machinists Ratify Agreement with Novelis

Kingston, ON – Members of IAM Local Lodge 54 have ratified a new collective agreement with Novelis Incorporated Kingston Works.
The three year agreement provides wage increases of 3 per cent in each year. Other agreement highlights include :
• Shift premiums increase from $ .60 to $ .75/hour in the first year and from $ .75 to $ .90/hour in the second year
• Vision care benefits increase to $375.00
• Orthodontics changed to $1000 for children only
• For employees with two or more years of continuous service, the company shall pay 100 per cent of the billed premiums to provide an LTD plan which pays 45 per cent of pre-disability basic salary to a maximum of $3500 per month
• Tool allowance increased to $400 per year
The 50 members manufacture aluminum products for the automotive, transportation and marine industries.
