Prince George, BC – Members of IAM Local Lodge 692 have ratified a new five-year collective agreement with Cobalt Industries Ltd (formerly North Central Machine Works).

The agreement provides wage increases of 2 per cent in each of the first two years and 3 per cent in the third, fourth and fifth year respectively. Pension contribution increases are $2.25/each hour worked in each of the first two years, $2.50/each hour worked in the third year, $2.75/each hour worked in the fourth year and $3.00/each hour worked in the fifth year. Other agreement highlights include :

·         Maximum bankable overtime hours increased to 40 hours in year one, 60 hours in year two, 80 hours in year three, 100 hours in year four and 120 hours in year five

·         First aid premium increased

·         Family Day imbedded into agreement as stat holiday

The six members consist of machinists and welders who specialize in the maintenance and shutdown of logging and mining equipment including the repair and rebuild of equipment, tanks and conveyors and pressure vessels.
