Machinists sign new deal with TTC

Toronto, ON – Members of IAMAW Local Lodge 235 have ratified a new collective agreement with the Toronto Transit Commission.

The three-year agreement provides wage increases of 3 per cent in each year. Other agreement highlights include :

* Improved medical and dental benefits
* Skilled trades premium increased from $ .10/hour to $ .35/hour

The 45 members perform maintenance servicing on TTC streetcars and other transit vehicles.

IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
