Machinists Sign One-Year Agreement at Nemato
Whitby, On – The members of IAMAW Local Lodge 901 have agreed to a one year contract agreement with Nemato Composites Limited.
“The economy had a great deal of influence on this round of bargaining,” said IAMAW District Lodge 78 Business Representative Paul Mitchell. “Considering we were faced at one point with either a strike or a lockout, this is definitely a compromise by both sides.”
The 60 members manufacture fiberglass products for the recreational pool industry.
IAMAW, among the largest industrial trade unions in North America, represents more than 700,000 active and retired members, and administers more than 5,000 contracts in transportation, woodworking, aerospace, manufacturing and defense related industries.
