Mechtron Ratifies with Machinists

Cambridge, On – Mechtron Innovations is the latest employer to implement the IAM pension plan in their newest collective agreement. Members of IAM Local lodge 2707 ratified a new three-year agreement with the tier-two auto parts manufacturer.
The agreement provides wage increases of 2 per cent in the first year, 2.5 per cent in the second year and 3 per cent in the third year. The IAM pension plan will be implemented in the third year of the agreement.
Other agreement highlights include :
- Dental coverage added to benefit package
- Increased paid vacation
- Overtime rates to be paid after 40 hours of work is now 1.5 times regular pay and double time on Sundays
- Paid Jury Duty
- Increased bereavement leave
- Numerous positive language changes
The 100 members manufacture automotive parts.
