Norfolk County Firefighters ratify new agreement

Simcoe, ON – Volunteer Firefighters in Norfolk County – members of IAM Local Lodge 103, have ratified a new four-year collective agreement.
“This was a difficult round of bargaining that required conciliation to achieve a tentative agreement,” explained IAM District Lodge 78 Directing Business Representative. Besides a modest monetary increase, the agreement also produced a premium increases for trainers/facilitators and improvement in promotional language.
The 21 members work out of Station 1, in Simcoe, 160 kilometers southwest of Toronto. It’s the largest of 11 volunteer firefighting stations, which form an integral part of the Norfolk County Fire Department.
