Quebec Machinists serve up generosity at Old Brewery Mission

Montréal, QC – Once again over three separate nights in March, the Quebec Machinists served over 1500 meals at the Old Brewery Mission in Montréal. This is the second consecutive year the Quebec Machinists have volunteered to assist the needy in Montréal.

The Old Brewery Mission is the largest resource for homeless men in Quebec and for homeless women in Canada.

Through the sales of hockey tickets generously donated Service Denis Monette, Goldblatt Partners, Melançon, Marceau Grenier et Sciortino and Roy Bélanger Dupras; the Quebec Machinists raised $11,750.00 for the Mission. Our efforts were also supported by the Bombardier Employee Benefit Fund with a donation of $5,000.00 as well as donations from affiliated local lodges for a total of $21,000.00 to the Old Brewery Mission.

Ticket winners include Renald Perron and Gilles Coaller of Local 712 as well as Alain Aubin and Correy Debonis of Local 1758.

Founded in 1889, the Old Brewery Mission provides a wide range of emergency, transition, health and housing programs and helps over 4,000 men and women every year to rebuild their lives. The donations and volunteer work of the Quebec Machinists is yet another example of how the IAM services its communities.
